April 2025 Members’ Forum

9 April 2025

Shelley Anderson opened the forum with a heartwarming Acknowledgement of Country. Then Janet Salisbury and other members of the Victorian Congress hosting team shared a highlights video for the Victorian Congress, which was held in Castlemaine from 28 to 30 March. They also outlined WCC thinking on the outcomes of this event, which will be developed further and shared more broadly in the coming weeks.

Our Member Cameos illustrated the importance of both science and the arts in climate thinking. Deborah Crossing, a former science teacher who has also worked with the SA Chamber of Mines and Energy, shared her knowledge of energy policy, which is so critical to an informed understanding of climate action. Toni Hassan, a 'self-confessed political tragic and recovering journalist', offered her informed take on the current political environment and shared with us why currently she has chosen social practice as a visual artist as her way of helping to create the world she wants to see.
