Reimagining governance and climate action with the Women’s Climate Congress

The Women's Climate Congress is dedicated to empowering women as leaders and changemakers in the global climate change challenge. Guided by our Vision and Theory of Change, we are committed to fostering an inclusive, equitable, and sustainable future where women's leadership and collaborative action drive climate solutions.

We aim to achieve three key outcomes:

  • By empowering women’s equality and agency to lead change ...

Women’s leadership, agency and influence on climate action reflects their right as half the population to fully participate in policy development and decision making at all levels in partnership with men.

  • By promoting deep listening and collaboration to create rapid, united change ...

Climate action is based on the science, and on collaboration and cooperation to build inclusive, fair and united policy and action.

  • By elevating care and nurture of life to inform Earth-centred, future-focused decision making ...

Nurture of life and care for the earth are at the centre of every government decision.

Strategic focus areas

  • Elevating gender equality

Advocating for gender equality as a vital component of action on climate change, and call for a gender lens to be applied to strategy and priority areas for climate action in Australia and internationally.

  • Political advocacy

Promoting climate action through engagement with parliamentarians and leaders, aligned with the WCC Charter for Change.

  • Strengthening women’s agency

Empowering women globally to champion the goal of limiting warming to 1.5°C and a just transition that supports longer-term human and planetary wellbeing.
