Why membership is important

By becoming a member of the Women’s Climate Congress (WCC), you're joining a powerful movement of women leading the charge for united climate action. Our strength lies in our diverse and growing community, and your involvement is key to driving real change.

As a national association, it is important to us to have a wide and diverse membership. We welcome all those who identify as women (cis, trans and nonbinary).

At WCC, we stand for:

  • Empowering women, in all our diversity, to rise to ambitious climate action

  • Advancing climate and environmental policy for the long-term well-being of people and planet

  • Fostering intergenerational equity and care

  • Improving climate discourse for more informed and inclusive decision-making

  • Supporting women in leadership across government and other sectors.

 About WCC

As a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee and a registered charity with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission, we’re committed to transparency and accountability. This means we’re required to gather some basic information to maintain our members' register.

We do not charge a membership fee but very much appeciate donations, however small, to support our work. If you have the means, a regular donation is particularly appreciated as it helps us to cover our regular administrative outlays.

Our constitution

Please read our Constitution. Under our constitution, members are added to our membership register and have voting rights at special general meetings and the AGM.
Note that you are becoming a member of a corporation limited by guarantee, which means that you will be liable for a payment of up to $10 in the unlilkely event that WCC winds up insolvent.

Tailoring your membership

Additionally, we’ll ask you a few questions about yourself to help us tailor your membership experience and empower you to get the most out of your involvement with us. Much of it is optional and you can request that we delete any data you submit to us, at any time.

Note that when you become a member of the WCC, we will also add you to our mailing list for information, newsletters and events information (you can opt for which emails to receive).
